# About us

Our vision and values

**At the starting point in 2005, we neither thought about creating a company nor about developing a scheduling software. There were four of us, all trained as pilots and dispatchers.**

We were thinking how to make our lives easier and replace manual work in the dispatch process. We wanted a tool which would be small enough not to be overly complicated and big enough to be better than a piece of paper.

Two of us were managing a trip support company and invited another two to create a simple system. This is how the software started. It was a small in-house piece of software for the purpose of the trip support company. Later on, we have added the possibility for their customers to review the schedule. After a while, it was clear that there is a gap on the market and we wanted to cover it.

Today we are still focused on improving our software. After years of development, many new functionalities have been introduced and many others rewritten. We are still trying to meet the industry's latest standards.

## Our mission

**Our mission is to deliver powerful but simple to use cloud-based flight management software that guarantees efficiency to all stakeholders involved in a flight organization process.**

Our philosophy is to focus on delivering the core Leon system and to extend the software functionality through API-driven integrations delivered by other cloud-based software suppliers.

We believe that the future of aviation is a complete switch to online software providers that will specialize in their domains. A seamless connection between the systems is the key to success.

## New Office

Since 2025, Leon Software had a new office in the Eurocentrum office complex near the city center. On a daily basis, you could find our teams working there to deliver the best flight scheduling software out there. There is also a spot to relax, chat, and play games with your friends—and if that wasn’t enough, you could unwind in our massage chair.

## This is our story

2005

Where it all began

At the starting point in **2005**, we neither thought about creating a company nor about developing a scheduling software.

There were four of us, all trained as pilots, but we were working as dispatchers and were thinking how to make our lives easier. We dispatched many different aircraft types from business jets to big airliners and there was no tool for doing that smoothly. We wanted a tool which is small enough not to be complicated and big enough to be better than a piece of paper.

2007

Leon Software Ltd

We founded Leon Software Ltd. and initiated a professional approach to the development of the application.

In **December 2007**, Leon 2 was released. Also our current CTO, Paweł Szmagaj joined the company. At that stage, the system was only available on the domestic market, but we knew that it was necessary to further develop the system to make it ready for the international market.

2009

International premiere

The system had its international premiere. The first European and Asian air operators started to use Leon.

We gained confidence about our product and decided to implement further improvements to meet our clients' needs.

2012

New office & mobile app

We moved to a bigger office and started to hire more developers.

Year 2012 was a breakthrough for the company. Leon gained recognition on the market as our sales were increasing rapidly.

IOS app for crew members was introduced, followed by the development of Android app.

2014

API for 3rd party developers

Numerous technological upgrades were introduced in **2014**.

We moved our main hosting center to Amazon in Ireland, started to publish Leon in monthly development cycles and introduced the first version of API for 3rd party developers.

2015

New Leon's interface

In 2015, we started to rebuild Leon's interface for the better user experience. We employed more developers for our technology of choice - ReactJS.

Our core module was completely rebuilt and we released a brand-new OPS module in December.

2016

New improvements

We continued to improve the new OPS module and started to plan how to redesign Crew section to make it better.

We managed to eliminate system's installation fee, what resulted in a substantial clients' influx. Server infrastructure was vastly improved to comfortably accommodate the rising number of customers.

2017

Agile development

We have extended our office again, reorganised internal IT processes and introduced many technical improvements to the software.

We have switched from two specialised teams into three full stack developer teams working in Agile/Scrum methodology. Our deployment cycle has been shortened to 2 weeks. We have also introduced Docker Containers in order to speed up the deployment process, switched to PHP7 and implemented more automation to monitor code quality.

2018

New OPS module

We have migrated all our customers to the new OPS module which has been rewritten in a newer technology, managed to improve Leon user experience by increasing the application performance and introduced many features both in desktop and mobile application.

We have made our pricing more transparent, development speed has been further increased and we have introduced the DevOps culture.

2019

New Sales module

Working consistently on further improvements, we have introduced a revamped version of Sales module, which has been designed for the purpose of process automation and an improved workflow of charter sales.

We have also grown again, reaching a stable number of over 200 concurrent aviation companies using Leon. Another huge milestone was the one millionth flight dispatched through Leon.

2020

Switching to remote work

Despite a very challenging year due to COVID-19, we have managed to adjust our company to the new environment by fully switching to remote work.

We have also increased our team by 4 people and introduced Tech Support as an additional department supporting our customers with technical help. We have managed to reach 240 customers by the end of the year.

2021

Warsaw office overhaul

It was another busy, yet fruitful year. We introduced a new subscription plan for charter brokers and extended the mobile app suite with the introduction of the Sales app.

Leon’s Warsaw office has gone through a complete overhaul to meet the expectations of our growing team, which reached 40 members by the end of the year. We also celebrated another huge milestone by surpassing the threshold of 300 customers.

2022

Growth on all fields

This year came for us with a massive breakthrough on all fields.

Onboarding large clients like Avcon, Global Jet and Air Alsie brought a wide field of new features and integrations. A double increase in employee number, from developer teams through technical and customer support.

With such an increase we are able to work on much wider developments and quickly react to customer’s needs. New Maintenance module and weight & balance functionality have been introduced to users as the integration with Jetex and swift communication to their services became available.

2023

Elevating security standards

In addition to onboarding significant clients like TAG Aviation, we have concentrated on enhancing our security practices. Our ISO27001 certification has been renewed by a new auditing company, BSI Group.

Considerable effort has been invested in improving the application's performance, scalability, and security. This was achieved by introducing a decentralized application infrastructure, which has been thoroughly tested and is now prepared for widespread adoption among our customers.

By the end of the year, we surpassed 420 customers, and our team expanded to 55 employees.

2024

Growth, Security, and Enhanced Customer Support

In 2024, we expanded our **Customer Support team** and added a new **development team**, reaching **64 employees** by year-end while serving **492 customers**.

We introduced **24/7 support** through a new **support center in Vancouver, Canada**, ensuring continuous assistance for all clients.
To enhance security and compliance, we implemented **ISO 27001:2022, ISO 27018**, and deployed a **Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP)** to secure our cloud infrastructure. Many **trip support companies integrated their systems with our platform**, further expanding our ecosystem.

2025

New product, new people, new markets

2025 started with a big step forward for **Leon’s AI development** - from document, reports and invoice editing to the Wingman AI chat assistant.

We launched the Leon Marketplace, giving the possibility to buy and sell charter flights without leaving Leon.

We expanded our teams in Sales, Development, and Technical Support. We also opened a new office for our growing team.
