Leon Software Moves to a Dedicated Database per Customer
We’re making an important change to how Leon stores customer data. Instead of keeping the data of many customers in a shared database, we’re moving each customer to their own dedicated database, separate from the databases of other customers.
What’s Changing
Until now, data from multiple Leon customers has been stored together in shared databases. Under the new setup, every customer’s data is kept in a database of its own.

When you work in Leon, the application automatically recognises which account you’re working in and connects you to your own database. This all happens behind the scenes.
Why We’re Doing This
The new setup gives you stronger data separation and gives our team more flexibility in running and maintaining each customer’s environment. It brings three main benefits:
- Stronger data separation – Your data is stored in its own database rather than alongside other customers’ data. Issues such as unusually high load or a problem with one customer’s database stay contained to that database and are far less likely to affect anyone else.
- Independent backups and recovery – Backups and restores can be carried out separately for each customer. If a customer’s data ever needs to be restored, we can do it without affecting any other customer.
- Better performance and shorter maintenance windows – Each database holds only one customer’s data, so there is far less for the system to search through when you work in Leon. Maintenance tasks that come with new Leon releases also run on smaller databases, which helps us shorten the downtime needed for updates.
What This Means for You
The way you use Leon stays the same. Screens, features and workflows are unchanged. Your existing integrations, including API connections, continue to work as before. You don’t need to take any action.
How the Rollout Will Work
We’re rolling out the change gradually, moving customers to dedicated databases one at a time. Before we migrate your data, we’ll contact you separately with the planned date and any details relevant to your account.
If you have any questions in the meantime, our Support team is happy to help.
