Leon 225 released

We have recently initiated the deployment of a new version of Leon. Over the next coming days, customers will gradually transition to the updated version. If you encounter any functions that are not working as expected, please notify us via the Customer Portal.

Important Notices

• Starting July 1st, anonymous ticket submissions will no longer be supported in the Customer Portal. All users will be required to log in before submitting a support request. If you haven't registered yet, please create an account at Customer Portal.

Crew

• Crew Calendar export now also includes simulators. The file gets a separate tab with dates, times, the airport pair, the crew member's name, and the position they were assigned. The Simulators option is enabled in the export window, alongside the existing positioning option. If several people are on a simulator session, each gets their own row. More information here.
• In the Assign Crew window, Leon loads the tiles for the crew members immediately instead of loading them via "Load more" — the window opens much faster. FTL validation still runs when actually assigning the selected crew members to a flight. More information here.
• Positionings in the OPS module are now created and edited in the same window used in Crew Calendar and Crew Timeline. FTL details can also be opened directly from this window. The window opens via the New positioning button and by clicking a positioning in the Ops list. The old right-panel editing method remains available for now behind a toggle.

Crew Training

• We added a new currency — Recency Check Flight / 15 hours in 60 days. This meets the requirements of offshore helicopter operations: a pilot must fly 15 block hours on type within the last 60 days, and if they don't, they regain their qualification after a check flight with an LTC/TRI.

FTL

• A new FTL item lets you require that, before a block of consecutive night duties, a crew member be free of duties until a specific local time. This is useful for operators whose OM-A requires night-time rest before a series of night duties. The time is entered in the FTL preset; the field is empty by default, so nothing changes for anyone without deliberate configuration.
• FTL configuration now supports setting minimum rest for specified airports. This is a solution for operators who can't treat two airports as a single airport group but need a different minimum rest for them than the standard one.

OPS

• Journey Log has several updates this sprint:
  • Two new time fields — Door opened and Door closed — let the crew record the exact times the aircraft door was opened and closed, which is useful for billing and punctuality analysis. Both fields are also available as columns in Report Wizard (Flight scope).
  • A new Discretionary Fuel Reason field in the Fuel section lets the crew briefly note why extra discretionary fuel was taken, leaving an audit trail for above-plan fueling. The field is available as a column in Report Wizard.
  • A new Aircraft Defects note lets the crew record defects noticed during the flight without hunting for a place to put them elsewhere. The note is available as a column in Report Wizard (Flights scope).
• The Copy Trip function now also copies the handling agents assigned to flights. For recurring trips, handlers no longer need to be selected manually on each new flight. More information here.
• Virtual aircraft can now have their own default trip type. Previously Leon always defaulted to PAX Charter — now each operator decides for themselves, with the same logic as for owned aircraft. The setting is found in the virtual fleet configuration; PAX Charter remains the default. More information here.
• The Due Dates window can now be narrowed down to selected aircraft. We added a multi-select field that starts with the aircraft set on the OPS module filter — no more scrolling through checklists for the whole fleet when working on just one aircraft. More information here.
• Flight Notifications can now be configured based on airport category. Notifications can be sent only for flights to or from airports of selected categories, taking into account the category assigned to the aircraft type on the flight. The mechanism works the same way as the existing selection of specific airports. More information here.
• SSIM flight export in the OPS module now covers periods of up to 6 months instead of just one. Scheduled operators can generate a file for the entire season in one go.
• We added FTL violation to the list of warnings in Flight Editing Warnings. When a flight is saved, Leon checks whether any crew member logged on it has an FTL violation and warns the operator. The warning is disabled by default; it can be enabled as either a dismissible warning or one that blocks saving. More information here.
• The ForeFlight integration was also updated in a few ways:
  • It can now pull the distance from the flight plan calculated in FF and enter it into the Distance field on the Flight tab. The feature is enabled with a new setting in the ForeFlight integration tile.
  • Passenger data changes affecting gender split (date of birth, gender) now trigger a flight update in ForeFlight. Previously only a change in passenger count triggered this, so corrections made to contact profiles weren't reaching FF. Only updates are sent for flights that have already been sent to ForeFlight and have a modified contact assigned.
  • The add-on now has an option to skip PAX and cargo data when updating flights. This is useful for operators who calculate masses in another system and don't want Leon overwriting them with zeros. Sending PAX and cargo data is enabled by default — it must be deliberately turned off. Works for both API v1 and v2.

Phonebook

• Phonebook now takes operator bases into account. A base selector was added to the right-hand menu, and contacts are filtered by the Operator bases field — a user with access to one base only sees contacts assigned to it. When adding or editing a contact, the list of bases is limited to those the user has access to. A contact must have at least one base assigned. More information here.
• A new Phonebook setting lets you block creating and editing companies directly in the Leon UI. This is an option for operators whose company profiles are created in an external system and pushed into Leon via integration — keeping data from diverging. The block applies to the Basic and Details tabs for Company-type contacts; creation and editing via API (API key, OAuth) remain possible. More information here.

Sales

• The Ready to book status is now called Reserve. The change covers General Settings (Sales Module tab), the document-sending window linked to this status, and the new API Marketplace.
• We've begun moving sales settings from General Settings to a dedicated Sales settings page. Eventually everything related to Sales will be in one place with a new, clearer interface. This sprint we moved the first batch of settings — more will follow in upcoming releases. Information about current setup can be found here.

Wingman and MCP

• Wingman can now be connected to Anthropic models, not just OpenAI. The provider is chosen in Wingman's settings, and all features — calling actions, approvals, and attachments — work the same way as in the OpenAI version. The system prompt for Anthropic is configured separately.

In addition to the features mentioned above, changes have been made to Leon API, which can be reviewed in the provided changelog.
