  • How does the one-month free trial works?

You can sign up for a free one-month Leon's trial and enjoy access to all of the system's features with your fleet and users and your FTL rules implemented. No credit card is needed. We will notify you before your trial expires, and you can decide to subscribe to our paid plan or let your free trial expire.
  • How do I subscribe?

When your free trial is set you can activate the subscription at any moment in Settings -> Manage Leon Account simply by providing billing information, adding your credit card details and accepting Terms of Service. There is a video available that shows all of the needed steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGXvmnGbaig

  • How long does the installation take?

To save time the installation is done on your free trial account, so your fleet, users and FTLs are already there.

From the moment you decide to subscribe to the system, we install your logo on documents generated by Leon and we schedule online trainings for your team. It depends on your team's availability, but usually it takes up to 2 weeks to train your personnel and be able to use Leon system in full extent.

We start with trainings for admins where we help to set Leon system to reflect your Company's needs and structure. As a second stage we offer trainings for OPS, crew, sales and maintenance teams.

If you choose the premium installation option, you get a dedicated assistant (a member of our Customer Support team) who can visit you at your office or perform online trainings and configure your account according to your needs. In such case, due to personal assistance, the installation process is fully depandant on the Customer's needs, which may take longer due to personalised requirements.

  • What language does your support speak?

Because English is the official language of civil aviation all our support team members speak English.

Becase we are based in Poland we also speak Polish.

  • How do I arrange training?

You can simply contact Leon Software Customer Support via https://customer.leon.aero/ and book an online training time that suits you best.

Leon can send email notifications to crew about new flights, schedule and crew changes. You can define it in a section Settings > Flight Notifications.

  • Can Leon send MVT emails to clients or other recipients?

Leon can automatically send MVT emails to defined default recipients, as well as to clients and/or handling agents. MVT emails can also be sent out manually from Flight Watch panel. Each aircraft can have its own MVT rules and email templates defined.

  • Can Leon inform our crew about their endorsements expiration?

Leon can send email notifications about any endorsement exipration. The email can be sent to crew themselves and also to selected people (i.e. crew planners). You can set up different time intervals (how many days before endorsement's expiry date Leon should send an email) for different endorsements, you can define different rules for emails sending and you can also include Airport Recencies and Online Familiarizations for email sending.

  • Can I set up Flight Time Limitations in Leon?

Yes, Leon monitors Flight Time Limitations for the crew. Details can be checked in OPS panel, Crew panel as well as in the mobile application. Amongst all FTL details, Leon checks limits such as: FDP, Cumulative block time & duty time, Rest before & after duty, 36h rest, FDP extensions, Next EOBT (Earliest Off Block Time), Cumulative days off. Any FTL violation is displayed as an alert in OPS flights list. All FTL violations are displayed in a special FTL Violations report (all crew) & FTL Sheet report (per a selected person).

  • Can Leon monitor crew currency?

Leon can monitor several types of currencies: 3 take-offs & landings in 90 days, 1 flight as CPT or FO, 5 IFR sectors for single-pilot operations or ILS cat II instrument approaches. Each operator can define number of days & take-offs, block hours or number of instrument approaches as well as for which aircraft type and cockpit position (CPT or FO) it should apply. A special report 'Crew Currency' report is available to view data for all crew or a selected person & selected type of currency.

  • Can I set up a different Leon access level for different departments?

In Leon you can create groups of users (Admins, OPS, Sales, Crew, Ground) and set up different access level for each single group, or a single user. You can prevent a particular group from viewing or editing data, set up 'Personal only' access (i.e. crew can view only flights they have been assigned to), give access to particular aircraft and disable access to other tails. You can also set up access to mobile application to crew members.

Enhanced Crew Planning with Leon Crew

Thursday, April 28th 2022 - 3:00 PM (CEST)

Past webinars

We have recently initiated the deployment of a new version of Leon. Over the next coming days, customers will gradually transition to the updated version. If you encounter any functions that are not working as expected, please notify us via the Customer Portal.

Important Notices

  • Starting July 1st, anonymous ticket submissions will no longer be supported in the Customer Portal. All users will be required to log in before submitting a support request. If you haven't registered yet, please create an account at Customer Portal.

Admin

  • We expanded the FRMSc Safe integration configuration with the ability to filter crew members by labels. Operators can now specify which crew groups (based on assigned labels) should be included in the data sent to the fatigue management system. If no labels are configured, the integration behaves as before — data is sent for all crew members.

Crew

  • We expanded the Crew Calendar view with the ability to display a Total Block Hours summary column for a selected date range. A new “Summary columns” section has been added to the settings menu (three dots), where you can choose one of three modes: Duty accounts balance, Total Block Hours, or Off & On days. Planners can now monitor total crew flight hours directly from the calendar view without generating separate reports. More information available here
  • We added a new option to the Crew Currency configuration: Count pilot monitoring toward approach currencies. When enabled, flights performed in the Pilot Monitoring position are counted toward approach currency (3D, CDI), while takeoffs and landings are still not counted for that position. The feature addresses regulations of operators who distinguish currency requirements for PM from standard crew.
  • We expanded the FTL window (accessible from Crew Calendar and Crew Timeline) with a new Commander's Discretion — Preceding rest reduction checkbox. The option works for both flights and positionings, allowing the preceding rest reduction to be marked under commander's authority. Previously, this option was unavailable for positionings.
  • We fixed the display of the arrow on duties that cross midnight for crew positions marked as “Ignored” in FTL calculations. The arrow indicating a midnight crossing is now displayed for all positions, regardless of their setting in Aircraft Crew Positions.
  • We added a warning in the OPS, Fleet Planning, and Sched modules when changing the aircraft type on a flight (tail swap): the system now displays a notification that one or more crew members do not have the required rating for the new aircraft type and were not assigned to the flight. Previously, this operation was performed without any notification.
  • We added timezone support to the roster export from the Crew Calendar view (Print → Excel). Previously, the export was always performed in UTC; now the user receives a file reflecting times in the currently selected base timezone.

OPS

  • We added two new columns to the OPS Table view: Parking Stand ADEP and Parking Stand ADES, which display the parking stand number at the departure and arrival airports respectively. The columns can be enabled from the settings menu (three dots). This makes ground planning and coordination with airport services more convenient directly from the flight list view.
  • We introduced automatic filtering of airports in the ALTN and ALTN2 fields in the Flight tab of the OPS module. The suggestions list now includes only airports categorized in the operator's account (categories A, B, C and their variants), excluding category P airports. The change eliminates the need to manually search for the correct alternate airports.
  • We added a new Journey Log item: End of Flight with a dropdown list containing reasons for early flight termination (Endurance, Tasking Complete, Weather, Customer Kit, Customer Request, Tech, ATC Request, FTL, Other). The field allows crew to record the reason for flight termination directly in the journey log, facilitating subsequent trend analyses and reporting.
  • We added two new checkbox fields to Journey Log: Single Engine Taxi In and Single Engine Taxi Out. The fields allow crew to record whether single-engine taxiing was performed, and their values are available in Report Wizard for operational data analysis and reporting.
  • We expanded SSIM import support in the Sched module to include the DEI 106 (Passenger Reservations Booking Designator) standard. This format is now correctly parsed in SSIM, ASM, and SSM messages, increasing compatibility with airlines using this reservation encoding.
  • We expanded the SSIM import function in the OPS module: when updating existing flights, the system now displays detailed information about the parameters that will be changed before the final confirmation. The dispatcher can see exactly what will change and can consciously accept or reject the update.

Phonebook

  • We expanded the contact creation API (personCreate and companyCreate mutations) with a number of missing fields that external integrations required. This allows partners integrating with Leon via the GraphQL API to fully map their contact data models without the need for manual completion afterward.
  • We expanded the contact model with an External ID field, which allows linking a contact in Leon with the corresponding record in an external system. The feature is particularly useful for bidirectional synchronizations, where maintaining consistent identifiers between platforms is necessary.

Report Wizard / Reports

  • We added a new scope in Report Wizard: FTL Sector. The report record is a single FTL sector (flight, positioning, etc.), and the available columns and filters include the user, position type (cockpit/cabin), and data resulting from FTL calculations. The scope allows creating detailed per diem reports and crew activity analyses at the sector level. Information available here

Sales

  • We added the ability to configure Flight Time rounding to 5 or 10 minutes in the Sales module, analogous to the existing Block Time rounding feature. The rounding is applied only when automatically setting the flight time (from Avinode or using the calculation tool) and does not affect manually entered times. Click here for more details.

Wingman and MCP

  • We expanded the MCP toolkit with a new tool: fuel price retrieval at airports. The tool accepts a list of ICAO/IATA codes and returns fuel prices — both from the operator's fuel files and from active integrations. This complements the set of tools available for the AI assistant and external integrations using MCP.
  • We updated the AI models used by Wingman, Document Manager, Email Templates, and Report Wizard to newer versions, resulting in improved quality and speed of generated responses. Additionally, Document Manager and Report Wizard now feature a model selector — you can now choose from available options, including Claude Sonnet and Claude Opus models, tailoring the AI tool to specific needs.

In addition to the features mentioned above, changes have been made to Leon API, which can be reviewed in the provided changelog.

Admin

  • Added the ability to edit the name of private handlers and suppliers. Previously, once a private contractor was added, there was no way to change its name — now it can be modified without any issue.

Crew

  • Redesigned the settings menu (three dots) in Crew Calendar. In the new settings dialog you can now choose which summary columns should be visible: duty account balances and days off / working days.
  • Added validation of crew member certificates when creating a duty in Crew Calendar. When a planner creates a duty with an assigned aircraft, the system automatically checks whether the given crew member holds valid certificates required for that aircraft — taking into account the aircraft type, position, and AOC. If certificates are invalid or missing in the system, after clicking Save a list of warnings appears with the exact details of the missing qualifications. The planner may ignore the warnings and save the duty anyway — the mechanism works analogously to the validation in the Assign Crew view on the Crew Timeline. More information here.

Crew App

  • Expanded the PAX creation form in the Crew App with new fields: Mobile, Remarks, Social Security number, and Company. The Company field defaults to the company assigned as the client of the given trip, with the option to manually select another. This allows planners to enter more complete passenger data directly in the mobile app — without the need to fill them in later in the main system.

FTL

  • Extended support for Australian aviation regulations (OML) with a new rule regarding pilots over 65 years of age. According to the requirements of the Australian CAA, pilots of this age may only operate domestic flights in Australia — that is, to airports with an ICAO code starting with "Y". In Crew Training settings this option can now be enabled, and if a planner tries to assign such a pilot to a flight outside Australia, the system will display a warning.

OPS

  • Fixed the display of flights in the OPS calendar in the Local Time (LT) view. Flights that started in the UTC timezone and fell on a different day in local time were invisible in the LT view — they now appear correctly.
  • Added a new entry in the Journey Log — "Cosmic Radiation". Operators that need to record cosmic radiation data in the onboard journey log can now do so directly in the JL.
  • Added a new entry in the Journey Log — "Diversion reason". Thanks to this, crews can enter the reason for a flight route change in the JL without having to use the general remarks field.
  • Expanded the handling of DEI messages in SSIM — added support for DEI 201, DEI 503, and DEI 505 types. This allows for the correct import and export of flight schedules containing these message types, which is important for data exchange with airports and slot systems.

Sales

  • Fixed a bug that caused quotations without an assigned currency to be displayed or processed incorrectly. Quotations without a currency are now handled properly, and operators will not encounter errors when working with such documents.
  • Expanded the permissions system in the Sales module with an additional access control option - Assignee-Only RFQ Access. It allows the visibility of RFQs to be restricted to those directly assigned to a given user. As a result, sales staff see only their own requests, not the entire list of RFQs in the organization. Additionally, the user has limited RFQ modification permissions. They can view the route but cannot modify it, change the base or assignee, or create new RFQs. This option is configured at the permissions group level in system settings. More information here.
  • Improved the integration with Airport Charges — fuel prices are now retrieved automatically when creating or updating an RFQ. All operators using this integration will see fuel prices filled in without manual searching, which speeds up flight quotation preparation. The “Auto calculate landing fee” option is enabled in the configuration under Add-ons.

In addition to the features mentioned above, changes have been made to Leon API, which can be reviewed in the provided changelog.

Airport Directory

  • We expanded the Recency configuration in Airport Directory with the option to specify validity in days - previously only months were available. This is particularly useful for airports that require qualification refreshes every few days.
  • We added an option to lock airport category changes in Airport Directory. An administrator can now mark a category as read-only, preventing users from changing it through the interface.

Crew

  • We added an indicator in Crew Calendar and Crew Timeline showing unpublished duties in draft mode. The indicator appears next to the PUBLISH button - planners can immediately see that there are pending changes in the current draft waiting to be published.
  • The first version of the Pairings-based Crew Timeline is now available on request. If you would like early access, please reach out to our support team.

Crew Training

  • We added crew member certificate validation when assigning a duty linked to a specific aircraft type. If the crew member does not have the required certificates for the selected aircraft, the system will display a warning. This allows qualification gaps to be caught at the duty planning stage, before they become an operational issue.

OPS

  • We added new de-icing fields to Journey Log: the ability to select the type of fluid used (Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, Hot Water, Hot Air) and to enter the application time. This enables more accurate recording of de-icing operations directly in JL - benefiting both compliance and reporting.
  • We introduced an option to display ARCID instead of the flight number on the flight bar in OPS Timeline. The toggle is available from the three-dot menu - for operators who primarily use the ARCID identifier in operational communication.
  • We improved FTL Details editing in the OPS view on the crew panel. We unified the logic for displaying statuses and messages across sectors - FTL data is now presented consistently regardless of which sector is being viewed.
  • We expanded the filtering options in Report Wizard with new filters for Journey Log columns. This allows for more precise narrowing of reports built on JL data.
  • We changed how Shared reports in Report Wizard are stored and displayed. Shared reports are now retrieved directly from the common database instead of being copied to each operator separately - simplifying the management of reports available to all.

Phonebook

  • We added a Category column to the main Phonebook view. The category assigned to a contact is now visible directly in the list — without needing to open the profile details.
  • We fixed a bug where clicking on a passenger (PAX) profile in Phonebook caused the full contact list to load instead of displaying the profile itself.

Sales

  • We expanded the permissions system in the Sales module. We added the ability to hide price list amounts from selected users, as well as a new "Sales - RFQ itinerary" permission controlling access to route data in quote requests. Settings are available in the Settings tab.
  • We introduced a central configuration panel "Sales module" in admin settings - analogous to the existing "Flight Editing" panel. The first available setting is the flight time calculation method used for pricing. This will ultimately be the single place for all sales module parameters.

Wingman and MCP

  • We added OAuth Server Metadata Discovery support to Leon's MCP server. This allows external OAuth clients — including AI tools such as Claude Code — to discover and use Leon's authorization endpoint without manual configuration. In the first version, client registration is still done manually; automatic auto-registration will be added in a subsequent step.

In addition to the features mentioned above, changes have been made to Leon API, which can be reviewed in the provided changelog.

We have recently initiated the deployment of a new version of Leon. Over the next coming days, customers will gradually transition to the updated version. If you encounter any functions that are not working as expected, please notify us via the Customer Portal.

Admin

  • The Email Templates section in the Privileges module has been moved from Admin System to Admin Operational. This change makes it easier for users with operational privileges to manage email templates without requiring access to the full Admin System.

Crew

  • A new filter has been added to the Crew Timeline view, allowing planners to search for crew members who have a specific duty assigned within a selected time range. This makes it easy to identify available crew without manually browsing the calendar.

Crew Training

  • The Prodefis integration now supports synchronisation of attachments for passports and visas (previously only certificates were supported). Additionally, the file retrieval mechanism has been updated to always download the latest revision of a file, ensuring documents in Leon are always up to date.

OPS

  • A default trip type per client can now be set directly in the OPS module. The option is available in the client profile in the Phonebook. Previously, this could only be configured for the Sales module — the same functionality now works in OPS as well, enabling consistent management of client preferences across both modules.
  • Flight change history now includes a dedicated event for saves performed via the "Save ignoring warnings" option. Each such save is now recorded separately, making it easier to audit when and by whom a flight was saved while bypassing system warnings.
  • Two new checklist items have been added: Parking Stand ADEP and Parking Stand ADES. These are flight-level operational items available in the default OPS section, allowing users to enter the parking stand number at both the departure and arrival airport.
  • A new "Manual" approach type has been added to the Enabled Approaches section in flight editing. This option is configured in system settings and gives operators additional flexibility when defining permitted approach procedures.
  • The flightModified and tripsModified GraphQL API queries have been extended with an optional argument to specify the earliest departure date and time to include in results. This makes it easier for integrators to retrieve only changes relevant to flights scheduled within a specific time window.

Sched

  • A bulk checklist status change option has been added in the SCHED module under "Modify flights", allowing users to update checklist statuses for multiple published flights at once. This saves time when updating statuses across entire flight plans.

Sales

  • Day Notes from the OPS calendar are now integrated into the Sales calendar. Sales users can see Day Notes directly in their calendar view — without needing to switch to the OPS module.
  • The Issuer field on an invoice can now be edited after the invoice has been issued. Previously, this field was locked after finalisation, making it difficult to correct in the event of a mistake.
  • When retrieving fuel prices from WKC (WFS), the system now also fetches the "minimum fee" field and displays it in the note alongside the price. This allows for a more complete cost assessment when planning fuelling.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused an incorrect default flight number to be displayed when adding a new quote on a different aircraft tail, following the creation of an option on another tail.

Wingman and MCP

  • An improvement to the MCP server's oAuth authorisation now allows Anthropic tools — Claude Code, Claude.ai, Claude Cowork — as well as many other AI tools from third-party providers to be connected directly to Leon. This opens entirely new possibilities for automating work with Leon data via AI assistants. To activate this feature, please contact our support team.

Crew

  • The "Edit duty" window now displays the start and end dates of the duty timeframe

Crew App

  • We have fixed several display issues in the hotel-adding section of Crew App — improved readability of the date and time field, currency display, overlapping note label (iOS), and an issue preventing deselection of an aircraft.
  • Flights are now displayed in Crew App on the reporting day (Report On) rather than the departure day. This change affects the My Schedule and Schedule views, so crew members see flights on the day they actually need to report.
  • FTL in Crew App — flight number and report on/off information added to the FTL flight view in the mobile app. More information here.

Crew Training

  • Added the ability to assign different licence types to different aircraft types for a given crew member. Exceptions can now be configured in the Ratings tab (User Edit), and the change is taken into account when checking certificates (Crew Qualifications and the Crew tab in OPS).
  • Added a “Facility location” field in simulator editing — allows specifying the actual airport where training takes place. The FTL module uses it for calculations instead of the standard start/end fields. The “Place” field has also been renamed to “Facility name”. More information here.

Leon Marketplace

  • Marketplace — operator details popup when searching for aircraft, with support for aircraft type name display.

OPS

  • Added support for automatic import of Load (LDM) messages from an operator-designated mailbox. Leon scans the mailbox every 10 minutes, parses Load messages, and saves cargo, mail, baggage, and passenger data directly in Flight Watch for matching flights. Matching is based on flight number, date, and ADES airport. To configure this feature, select a mailbox in the Cargo settings under the Fleet section — the LDM Mailbox field. More information here.
  • Added support for the new ForeFlight API version (Schedule v2). The integration now allows flights and crew to be sent to ForeFlight using the newer API, resolving recurring update issues. In the integration settings (Add-ons), you can choose which API version (v1 or v2) is used.
  • Added a new “Aircraft Handover Report” (AHR) field in the Journey Log under the OPS section. You can enable this item in the Settings > Journey Log Configuration. This is a checkbox that can be marked after a flight is completed. The field is also available as a column in Report Wizard under the Flight scope.
  • Fixed handling of the Alternate field in the “Auto Import PPS Fuel Data” feature. If both ALTN1 and ALTN2 fields are filled in PPS, Leon now takes the higher value — providing more accurate alternate fuel planning.
  • Aircraft settings now allow defining that Oil uplift is measured in litres instead of quarts. The selected unit is saved with each Journey Log entry, protecting historical data from potential configuration changes. New columns for both quarts and litres are available in Report Wizard. More information here.
  • Fuel Suppliers section now allows you to set selected fuel supplier as a favourite on selected airport and for the selected aircraft. More information here.

SCHED

  • Bulk checklist status change for multiple flights at once in the Modify Flights option. More information here.

Wingman and MCP

  • Added a new MCP tool that returns the schedule change history for a given flight (flightNid). Wingman can now inform users about when and what changed in a flight's schedule.

Admin

  • A Social Security Number field has been added to the logged-in user's profile edit window. Previously, this field was only accessible from the Phonebook.
  • Fixed an issue where administrators could not generate a password for a user whose individual login method is set to password, while the operator-level login is configured as SSO/SAML.
  • Added a change history for Journey Log configuration settings in the admin panel. It is now possible to check when and what changes were made — including enabling/disabling elements and modifications to the aircraft assigned to them.

API

  • Optimised the tripModified/flightsModified GQL queries that were causing timeouts when a large number of changes were present.

Crew

  • Added an option to display the required 36h Weekly Rest on the Crew Calendar view.
  • Introduced the ability to use custom duty colours on the Crew Timeline. Instead of the default colour palette, you can now enable a colour scheme taken directly from duty definitions — the same as on the Crew Calendar.

Crew Training

  • Pilot can now hold multiple licences, each for a different aircraft type and issued by a different authority (e.g. an FAA licence for one type and an EASA licence for another). More information here.
  • Certificate filtering in dot validation on Crew Calendar — the certificate validation mechanism in the Crew Calendar view has been enhanced. When grouping by aircraft, the system now only considers certificates assigned to the specific aircraft and its default AOC, rather than verifying all certificates together. The change affects both the crew member status dot and the tooltip.

Leon Marketplace

  • Added Ambulance as a new charter type in Leon Marketplace, allowing operators to tag their aircraft accordingly and enabling buyers to filter search results by this category. More information here.

OPS

  • Extended the Flight Watch data with new Baggage and Mail fields measured in the aircraft's Cargo Weight units.
  • Added a new Journey Log element called RAW DATA TKOF/DEP. This checkbox field allows recording whether raw sensor data was collected at take-off or landing.
  • Introduced the ability to lock editing and deletion of closed flights. Operators can now assign appropriate permissions so that only designated personnel can modify or delete flights with closed Journey Logs. More information here.
  • Extended MVT email templates with the ability to include a list of passengers who were not boarded.
  • Operators can now configure which flight-save validation warnings can be dismissed and which ones should block saving — allowing more flexibility when saving flights despite non-critical warnings. More information here.
  • Changed the displayed field in the WKC integration — instead of supplierName, the system now shows FBO, which better reflects the actual name of the fuel handling entity at the airport.

Phonebook

  • The Category field now supports selecting multiple values, allowing a single contact to be assigned more than one category.

In addition to the features mentioned above, changes have been made to Leon API, which can be reviewed in the provided changelog.

We have recently initiated the deployment of a new version of Leon. Over the coming days, customers will gradually transition to the updated version. If you encounter any functions that are not working as expected, please notify us via the Customer Portal.

OPS

  1. Added support for multiple WKC (World Kinnect Corporation) accounts for a single operator in Leon, similarly to Avinode and other integrations. Each account can now be individually named for easier identification. Configuration is available in the Admin Panel > Add-ons > WKC Configuration.
  2. Added a new Journey Log element — Aircraft Cover Fitted. This field allows users to record whether aircraft covers were installed after the operations were completed. Like other Journey Log elements, it can be enabled in Settings > Journey Log.
  3. Introduced the possibility to assign a flight to a specific operator base or office directly from the OPS module. A new field in the flight view allows operations to be linked to a selected location, improving fleet management for multi-base operators. More information here
  4. Increased the size of the AOC selection field in the Flight tab. The full AOC name is now clearly visible without the need to hover over a tooltip.
  5. Improved Ambulance trip handling — flights marked as Ambulance will no longer automatically switch to Ferry status when PAX = 0. Switching to Ferry is now only possible manually, preventing unintended status changes during rescue missions.
  6. Significantly improved passenger search performance in OPS > PAX. The previous issue caused long search times, especially for operators with large contact databases.
  7. Added the initial version of LDM - Load Distribution functionality. More information here

Crew

  1. Added a Bus option as a new reporting type in FTL settings (in addition to Private Car). This allows more accurate recording of crew transportation methods and precise reporting time calculations in compliance with FTL regulations.
