IQSMS & Leon integration

With the widespread awareness of safety, there is a great need to develop solutions that merge automatisation in flight management and safety management systems. That's why we introduce a new integration in Leon Software for IQSMS that will enhance safety procedures for all Leon and IQSMS users.

IQSMS  Integrated Quality and Safety Management System

ASQS (Advanced Safety and Quality Solutions) is a company operating for more than a dozen years. The software provider currently serves more than 300 small, medium-sized and large enterprises from all over the world, including airlines, private jet and helicopter operators, airports, MROs, manufacturers, and UAVs.

ASQS provides them with an integrated system that significantly benefits the aviation industry. The main goal is to support the digitisation process of the aviation industry and improve communication channels within companies, resulting in a better flow of documents and information flow. Therefore, ASQS contributes to lowering the costs of system operation, increasing flight safety, maximising company efficiency and improving its safety culture.

Leon Software the Flight Management System

Leon Software is a provider of software for the aviation industry. It primarily serves to support companies in terms of information flow, flight planning or crew configuration. As a result, Leon Software's customers are provided with tools that make the management of both passenger and cargo flights much easier.
Leon takes safety and security very seriously: "During Cybersecurity October we talked about what safety measures Leon introduces internally, but now we want to introduce the newest integration in the area of safety for our clients. Integration with IQSMS is a step towards meeting the rising market demand for reliable safety management software" says Paweł Szmagaj, CTO at Leon Software.

Why is the safety management system (SMS) so important in business aviation?

The SMS allows monitoring and maintenance of safety indicators as well as the use of relevant databases and statistics or change management. The standardised nature of the system thus provides the opportunity to consider previous experience, analysis of the current situation and anticipation of possible future problems that may arise in the future.

Depending on specific needs, the SMS can assume three attitudes. The reactive mindset allows the analysis of events occurring in the past, together with their consequences. For this purpose, the system makes use of the knowledge already gathered on various types of incidents and accidents. The proactive system on the other hand, analyses current data provided by audits, assessments and reports prepared by employees. Using a predictive approach, data collection seeks to identify potential problems that may have occurred in the past, so that their impact can at least be mitigated. When considering the advantages of SMS, it is important to remember that it also takes into account business considerations, so its use can reduce unnecessary costs.

“In all developments, ASQS aims to simplify daily safety and quality management processes to promote safety accountability throughout the organization. Integrations with other applications such as Leon are therefore of great benefit to our users”, says Günther Syrowatka, CTO at ASQS. “Especially in the area of reporting, barriers need to be reduced as much as possible to encourage crew members to share safety relevant information. In short, without reporting, essential safety information is lost, which can be threatening to the operation.”

Reporting made easy – The Leon-IQSMS interface

The integration between Leon and IQSMS significantly facilitates crew reporting by automated data transfer between the applications. With this interface, when filing a report in IQSMS, all flight-related data is automatically pre-filled in the report after flight selection and does not need to be manually entered by the reporter. This not only saves time and redirects the focus back to the safety information being provided. One of the most important advantages is the high data quality that can be guaranteed by direct data transmission. The susceptibility to errors in data drops to practically zero due to automation, as manual input is no longer necessary. The main goal of this integration is to keep reporting as simple as possible, eliminating obstacles and thus increasing the reporting performance. As a result, this leads in turn to an improvement in the safety culture and the strengthening of safety accountability within the company.
